snowboarding and the laws of motion
by calvin simpson

the question?
how impotraint are the laws of physics to snowboarding?

my research.

the physics of snowboarding involve forces acting apon the snowboard and the snowboarder. the force providing movement is gravity pulling you down the hill as air resestance slows you down as the angle opf downward motion is reduced the maxamum acceleration provided by gravity is correspodingly reduced untill we reach a complety flat surface Therefore the maximum speed attainable by the snowboarder will be initially influenced by the angle of the surface during descent. the forces of friction and air resistance will act to further reduce the attainable velocity, so any factors which can reduce these influences will affect the ride. external image Snowboarding.jpg
